A dynamic, cutting-edge ICT ecosystem

A Coruña and its metropolitan area stand out for the strength of the ICT business sector, as it concentrates about 700 companies (27% of the total in Galicia) and generates more than 7,200 jobs (40% of employment in the sector).

The Cidade das TIC has the explicit support of all the administrations with the aim of contributing to Galicia’s specialisation in emerging technologies. Connected and more competitive business networks will be developed, ICT and digitalisation in Galicia will be promoted and a reference centre in artificial intelligence will be created at a national and international level.

Location

The Cidade das TIC is located on the lands of the old Fábrica de Armas-Arms Factory, on Pedralonga avenue in A Coruña.

With over 128,000 m2, it is located in a unique location with excellent mobility connections to the rest of the city, the university campus, the AP9 motorway and the airport. The land has been ceded by the Ministry of Defence to the University of A Coruña in the year 2020 to promote the Cidade das TIC in a sustainable and scalable way in a historic industrial complex.

A sustainable ICT ecosystem

Sustainability is the guiding principle behind the rehabilitation of the complex as well as its mobility.

Advanced Services Centre

The Cidade das TIC will contribute to stimulate and attract to Galicia ICT entrepreneurs and large international technology partners in new emerging technologies to Galicia.

Advanced Services Centre (know as CSA)

The Cidade das TIC has received financial support of 4.8 million euros from the Xunta de Galicia through the IGAPE for the construction of the Advanced Services Centre (CSA as its Spanish acronym), a demonstration, prototyping and project launch centre for the implementation of ICT in the economic sectors of Galicia. Open since October 2023.

Business Park

The Cidade das TIC makes available more than 30,000 m2 for the installation of small and large technology companies to promote responsible ICT growth, technological innovation and talent generation. This area, divided into 5 current buildings, can be expanded according to demand.
